Wood Carving Projects
Wood carving has been around for a very long time and can consist of anything from a simple pocket knife project, to a professional art piece.
One of the first types of wood carving projects that I started with, was a walking stick. Walking sticks are a very interesting type of carving. Check out some of my walking sticks on the Walking Stick page.
Another type of wood carving project that I mentioned on another page, is carving Wood Spirits, also known as Hillbillies. This type of carving project is one of my favorites. Check out the Wood Spirit|Hillbilly page for more information.
As a young child, you may have noticed your grandfather using his pocket knife to whittle a chain out of a solid piece of wood or one of many other busy projects. I say busy because many of the whittling projects are done by retired people who want to be busy working on something. There are a ton of whittling or "Whimseys" that you can get involved in carving. Check out my Whittling|Whimseys page for more information and to see my attempts at whittling.
A couple projects that I have been working on recently, are a "Whimsical Hut" from a current issue of "Carving Magazine" and an attempt at making a carving knife from an old pocket knife.
Here is my first attempt at the "Whimsical Hut". It was a very fun project that I want to try again and make some modifications to make it my own.

I've been working on some Christmas ornaments and wanted to share them with everyone that visits the Ozarlk Walking Sticks website. Below are some of the Santa ornaments that my co-workers ordered. Also I've thrown in a couple other original ornaments that I created. They are all carved in poplar and I have inserted the upper shaft and eye of fish hooks for hanging.
